Line Blade Optic 104 Skis 2023
Our impression of the Line Blade Optic 104: "Whoa? Did Line just make one of the best new all mountain skis of the year?!?" "These Line Blade Optics RIP!" "Wow! Seriously impressed" These are what all of our testers (both male and female) were saying about the new Line Blade Optic series. Skiers liked all three widths while the 96 was the most versatile, the 92 was slightly more fun on the frontside and the 104 was a true soft snow specialist you could still ski everyday no matter what the conditions threw at it. Sure, Line is known as a "twin tip brand" but don't let that fool you, this is one of the best skis we've tried to date. The tip rocker is just right and the bigger tail rocker makes skiing through the bumps and trees much easier than many of the other skis in this category.
The Line Skis Blade Optic 104 Skis are and all-new everyday freeride tool. They have a versatile waist width, playful mount point, and a metal laminate, giving them everything you need to charge hard in the morning and goof off in the afternoon. They're the perfect ski for a high level skier who doesn't need to be out crushing GS turns all day, but also doesn't want to be left undergunned when it's time to put the hammer down.
Rocker Type
Early Rise™ – Tip and tail lift away from the snow to bring the contact points closer to the center of the ski. This increases a ski's lift in deep snow and allows it to engage more quickly on hardpack.
Rocker Proflie – 11mm Tip / 2mm Camber / 10mm Tail
Flex
Directional Flex – The softer tip floats and initiates turns easily while the stiffer tail provides power, stability and high speed control.
Sidecut
5-Cut™ Geometry – Five different radiuses are blended into the ski's sidecut. The result? A wide variety of turn shapes and an intuitive feel.
Core
Aspen Veneer Core – An amalgam of Aspen Stringers brought together for a lightweight, snappy, and engaged feel.
Laminates
Gas Pedal Metal Overdrive™ – Titanal focused across the ski width provides increased edge grip and torsional stability while maintaining a lively feel along the length of the ski. Two independent tip and tail Titanal pieces add power and energy.
Sidewalls
Capwall™Construction – Combining the precision of sidewall underfoot, and the lightweight, durable performance of cap construction in the tip and tail, Capwall™ Construction provides the best of both worlds.
Base
Fatty™ Base | 1.7mm – 30% thicker base dramatically increases durability and tuning life the skis.
Edges
Fatty™ Edge | 2.5mm x 2.2mm – 30% thicker edge dramatically increases durability and tuning life of these skis.
